Sir Alexander Guthrie of Guthrie was a later owner of the sole surviving manuscript copy who added a prominent donation inscription recording his own gift of that copy—not to the king, but to a church aisle his family had endowed. There is a signed inscription recording his gift of the volume to the church of Guthrie (folio 7 verso) and a note recording his death and that of Alexander Strathachin of Balmady at Flodden in 1513 (folio 359 verso).
