He owned property there having purchased a lot fronting Main Street in 1799. He died between 1802-1803. Deed: 11 Oct 1805. Heirs of Peter Guthrie, dec’d of Madison Co. sold lot No. 36 for $1000 to James Hawthorn of Fayette Co. Reuben Guthrie, attorney for grantors.

An Indenture made 2 July 1799 between Robert Todd and Anne Todd, his wife, of Fayette Co., to Peter Guthrie of same county, for 35 pounds, lot No.36 in Lexington, fronting Main Street.

“For value received I promise to pay Peter Guthrie a likely young horse not exceeding six years old to be worth eighty dollars in cash on or before the first day of April next as witness my hand and seal this 11th day of December 1799 – Signed Daniel Williams. Witness: Carr Smith.

The note is located in the Case File # 12590 – Reuben Guthrie & Peter Guthrie vs. Daniel Williams – 1802. The next note orders the sheriff to bring Williams to court by the next Monday in September to answer to Peter Guthrie’s administrators, Reuben Guthrie and Benjamin Batterton. Letter dated 1803.
